Today, November 6, 2012 is a special day for Americans. Today we choose our nation’s chief executive and our representative in the House. Many of us are also casting votes for senator and a variety of local and state measures. We are blessed to have this right to vote. We are blessed also that, for the most part, our elections proceed peacefully without violence. Cherish this right and exercise it responsibly.
When you vote today, say a prayer before going to the polls. Pray to the Holy Spirit to guide you in your decisions. Remember the poor, the sick, the elderly, the unborn, and the immigrants looking for a better life. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats fully embrace and protect all of these members of our human family. What is important is that you vote for the candidate that you believe will bring us closer to being a nation of justice and equality. A nation that respects the sanctity and dignity of life at ALL stages. A nation of prosperity, compassion, and justice for all.
Have a Blessed Week!
